The people of Maycomb only knew Boo Radley and Tom Robinson by what others said about them. both of these characters do not really have their own “song” in a sense and therefore are characterized bu other people view points. When Atticus tells Jem and Scout that it is a sin to kill the mockingbird, this refers to the actions directed toward Tom and Boo. It was a sin to dislike Tom and Boo.
Tom Robinson was a man that was a great friend, excellent worker and now an inspiration to me. He was a person who had strong morals and he never went contradicted these. All these morals that he sustained throughout his short life were all ones that benefited the society, except for the fact that it was due to these morals that he died.
There are many similarities between the Scottsboro trial and the trial of Tom Robinson in the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird. “No crime in American history—let alone a crime that never occurred—produced as many trials, convictions, reversals, and retrials as did an alleged gang rape of two white girls by nine black teenagers on a Southern railroad freight run on March 25, 1931” (Linder 1).
The Negative Effect of Tom Robinson’s Trial A small town in Alabama is having its personality changed from admirable and friendly to unjust and prejudice, simply because of one important trial. Back in the 1930’s there were many trials that involved African Americans being falsely.

On April 24, 2008, the famous African American actor Wesley Snipes was sentenced by the federal court in Ocala, Florida, to a three-year prison term due to tax nonpayment.
Scout's dad becomes a defense lawyer for a black man, Tom Robinson, who's falsely accused of raping white girls. This has a large impact on Scout. In this trial she has teased by friends because her dad was serving this black guy. Scout begins to find that the racism that exist. Throughout the judiciary, her brother and close friend Dill watch it. Though they are young they could observe that.
When Atticus lost the Tom Robinson case Aunt Alexandre felt bad for him and understood how he tried very hard to try winning the case. “It Tears him to pieces. He doesn’t show it much but it tears him to pieces”(316). This quote explains how Aunt Alexandre felt towards Atticus when he lost the case. In conclusion Aunt Alexandre showed empathy towards Atticus and Jem. Scout showed empathy.
